Getting Started
Information Gathering
The first step in the process is to gather information from the client
regarding the subject and purpose of their website. This is usually done
through a short meeting or telephone conference where questions are answered
and ideas are shared. The information is used in the selection and acquiring of
a domain name that reflects the subject, its image and its market. Any existing
media (print media, logos, letterhead etc) is collected to assist in the design
of the website's colour schemes, text styling, page layout and site navigation.
Cost Estimate
All of the information and material collected is used to build a cost estimate
and timeline for the design, building and deployment of your site. The estimate
breaks down the cost in to work hours, additional costs such as domain name
registration and web hosting are also included. We normally ask for a fifty
percent deposit, the remainder is paid upon completion. We stick to our
estimate, any additional work done is up to you, we won't do anything with out
your consent.
The Design Process
The initial design process begins with the building of a mock layout of your
site for you to view online. We try our best to come up with a layout and
design that reflects your vision the first time, but we allow for revisions
twice after the initial design at no cost. Once a design and layout for the
public side of your site is agreed upon, we build the database and
administrative side. The administrative site is where you add your content and
images.
Adding Your Content
Once your site design and administrative pages are complete we will walk you
through the adding of content and images. We offer our clients a short tutorial
which can be done in person or over the phone and won't take more than twenty
minutes.
Going Live
Let us know when you are happy with the content you've added, and we will go
live with your new website for all to see. We will then submit your site to the
major search engines, and we are done. You are now on the web
